I love it...but a few points...
1. Finrod also fought at Alqualonde against the Teleri. Didn't he? Maybe a bit more emphasis?
2. Sun and moon stuff is charming and funny, but does it need to be covered in such detail? I think a single scene could cover it and be less distracting...
3. Errr...
4. That's it!

No. Never. /Fingon/ did, and it's part of why he gets really angry over the Kinslaying - he didn't know what was happening.

I agree, and I'd prefer not to have to cover it at /all/. However, even leaving aside adherence to Canon, there are a few important points. Like, the Sun first rises over the heads of Fingolfin's host, coming out of the /west/. I needed a scene to explain why it then switched around to rise in the east. I also needed to explain exactly what they were. That's two of what I think were only three scenes anyway (split up). What was the other?
Oh, yes. The first scene was Yavanna's song, and a wee bit of debate before it. The second was the rising of the Moon, which was when it was pointed out what they were. The third was the rearrangement of the movements.
The thing is, I've also used them as transition scenes. The first one is proving Feanor wrong even as he speaks. The second... okay, the second isn't much of a transition. The third is a way to make time pass.
I think they're necessary. However, if someone can come up with a way to cut down, tone down or eliminate them, that's fine.

My mistake. I was so sure about Finrod, though...that his defeat and death was punishment for his Kinslaying, which is why his enchantments broke down when he invoked the gulls of Alqualonde. I suppose it could be transferred atonement for his whole people, though.
Oh-one other point-Finrod is really unreconciled to Finarfin. Almost makes me want to do a full-blown reconciliation scene when they meet again, though I haven't got the space...it just seems too bitter and angry for Finrod...though we see anger against Cel and Cur, I suppose.
Suggestion-Celegorm should be the one trying to take High Kingship, not Curufin, who's more subtle, more of a manipulator.
That's it, really.

Nah, the whole reason the Finarfinions were allowed in Doriath was because only one of them - Galadriel - was at Alqualonde, and she fought on the side of the Teleri.
Eh. Yes. If you feel like doing a reconciliation scene, do. If you don't want to, I'll put it in the last few scenes. The final scene needs editing anyway, I may as well take the opportunity to tie up some loose ends.
Ooh, right, good idea. [Goes off to edit]
