I was notified that the scriptors are nearly finished! Ahh! So, we are really behind on our own project. This of course means, we need to start orgainzing ideas and animation. First of all, to have the animation relate to the script I would suggest to everyone to read the script or parts of it they are interested in animating. I have heard there is a unfinished storyboard lingering around somewhere, but until I can recieve it, we will use the script. Second, we need to decide what type of animation we are doing. Noticing our different styles has me thinking that we are pretty divided on this issue. We've seen some very cool examples of possible styles, but now it is time for us to make our own. We might be able to put up a poll to keep it orgainzed, but that will come later. Mainly though, we need to study the script and furbish the animation with ideas. Hope this was a help to everyone, Ka

Well, no, there aren't any storyboards except in my head. The only thing I've ever put down on paper or screen is the script itself and one shot of the Ainulindale, That was just a sort of proof-of-concept sort of thing, so I could see if it looked awful. It... kinda does, but it'd be better with them moving, and without all those stupid rays. But yeah. I can work up storyboards of a sort, but it'll be a few days before I can get anything onto the computer. Now, go on, Arty types -- get to it. And wander down to the voices section and volunteer your services if you wish. We're finally getting started.

Indeed. We had a good little splurge of concept art instigated by Hador...it would be nice both to continue that and to get some actual scenes written. Have fun and may your pens, pencils and brushes take wing...

But only in a metaphorical sense. After all, if all your pencils, pens and brushes fly away, what will you have left to draw with? We'd end up making The Silmarillion: Finger Paint Edition.

Valid objection. Alright, let them take wing while still being attached to your hands...

Okay, okay... Stop playing now. Really? No storyboards? I must be having a senior moment. Seriously, When I first heard of this project (Over at the BarrowDowns Forum) I replied saying that I had storyboard experience. I was then invited and told that most of the first three parts were in story board. Hmm... Oh, well. Anyways, I've read the first part (and good job on it too, it was NOT long for an introduction! Don't listen to those who think so...), and it was wonderfully done in a way that allowed alot of ideas to spark. Good Job! ;D I'm proably in this next week (I'm running towards a Nation History Day deadline this week ) going to be able to add some scenes... Awsome start. Did you use Adobe Photoshop or something else? Just curious... ~Ka

Well, I had nothing to do with the Barrowdowns posts. I think we had a error in communication somewhere, because there are no storyboards at all.
... was the photoshop question to me? If so, it was done in Paint Shop Pro, with a lot of use of the Illumination Effects > Sunburst tool. And was really only as a proof-of-concept.

Yep, it was directed at you. Paint shop? Really? Hmm... I only have about a year's worth of adobe photoshop experience, so I was just wondering. Wonderful job none the less...
