...on the Downs? A few renowned Downers have already jumped ship, but it would be good to get even more-we still sorely need equipment, actors and artists...

If we're advertising, I'll go and prod the PPC about it, too. We need... what do we need? Artists, right now. I mean, scripting of Turin and WoW are a long way in the future... even voicing the characters will have to wait until we've completely finalised the script... but artists, we need now. By the bucketload. We also, actually, need someone(s) who can compile a bunch of pictures and sounds into a complete, feature-length film. Do we have someone who can do that? And, for preference, set it all up in a format that will allow things like commentaries and extras to be included.
Yes, I'm ambitious. If we're doing this, let's do it /properly/. And then see if we can't get it copied onto DVDs for all the team members.

Our priorities, I hazard:
Artists Fomatthingamajiggers, as you say Actors Musicians Scriptwriters
Our industry, Huinesoron, has crippled our value! How sad!
And there's nothing wrong with being an early bird, catching worms and all that, so let's see if we can prod Nerdanel into making a decent start on Tale of Turin.
I e-mailed a friend who registered here as Sezan-a more than competent actor and a really good artist-to see if he could stir himself into a spot of activity.

Right, seeing as we seem to have about six active members, I'm calling for artists from the PPC Board. I'll also put out a call for people to compile the thing afterwards. Hopefully we'll get some sort of influx.

If your advertising a good place might be the entmoot forum, there would probably be people there willing to help

I know how to do that, if I'm able to acquire the software for it. I would do it on the school computers, but I won't be there anymore after this year. So I shall have to get it myself. Along with a decent computer. Which is on my to-do list anyway.
EDIT: fixing bad grammar

I'm around. It's been about a year, which is shocking, but if there are still people willing to persevere here I deeply apologise and am at their service.

Well, I'm still here occasionally... you know, it's only been /one/ month since you posted... but no one else is around, I don't think. Perhaps it /is/ time to clear out the junk threads, keep the relevant discussions, and just advertise the whole thing as pretty much a new project.
The flaw being that I don't believe I have clearence to edit anything I didn't write. So.

It feels like a lot longer!
Essentially, we're paralysed without an admin. Saphy must be found, if possible. Then we can start a new advertising drive.
As far as editing scripts goes, I think I'm still working through yours and you through mine. We can pick up where we left off.
Blast it all, even if we never get an artist or an audition, we've created some good fanfiction!
Still, we must try once more. Persevere and all that.

I have to admit -- I've used pieces of a prose'd form of FotN in actual fanfic. I think it's the unedited version (I... think the edited version hasn't got far enough), but still.
I'll prod Saphy next time I see her online -- she /is/ on my MSN, I just don't talk to her very much.

I found this project via the trailer you guys made on YouTube.
Also, I don't know if anyone else on this project is a member of Fanfiction.Net. I am, and it's a gigantic website with lots of Tolkien fans floating around. I/We could start a forum on there to try to recruit people if you thought that would get people interested.

Wow, I had no idea about a YouTube trailer. Clearly we've had some very sneaky people working this project. Re: Sauron's question, I do have an account at FF.net, but I know nothing about the forums system aside from the fact that it exists. You have a point about how huge the site is and the number of Tolkien fans there, though, so that might not be a bad 'recruitment post' so to speak. How about getting some more information together for that?

I've never created a forum either, but it looks pretty simple. Whoever wants to be administer of the forum creates it in their account settings under the Forum Tab. You just have a choose a fiction category, name of forum and such, and decide if everyone can create topics within the forum or if only the moderators can do that.

I'll just go with whatever works being cool on that, then. ^^ Do you want to be in charge of that, then, Sauron? Or you can contact me at The Pit and we could work on it together.
Any other thoughts on recruitment points?
