I'd love to voice Yavanna (or Nienna. I'm not picky). And, as I have said before, if there is any need for a voice for dear Ungoliant, I would be more than happy to do that. I'm also willing to fill any random parts (such as Noldo #3 or somesuch). ;D

I'd be willing to do whatever female voice part you all need. I am not sure how I would get my voice to you, as I am 17 and my rather-overprotective parents would probably not feel particularly enthusiastic about my posting my voice up on the internet, but if there's any way I can, I will be glad to help. I do not have a microphone or anything like that... I also sound perhaps young for my age, so that might be something else to take into consideration...

As far as FotN goes, I'd be willing to do any of these parts and more:
Finwë, Fingolfin, Finrafin, Manwë, Morgoth, Mandos, Sauron, or any other part that needs filled. I'm a bari/bass, if that helps.
Not too sure about anything for LoL, since I've yet to take a look at the script.

Hey, hS, in the screenplay for FotN, you sometimes specify accents for the Valar. Is there anything in particular you had in mind for Yavanna or Nienna? Just so I'll know...

Yavanna or Nienna... no, not really. Both of them need to be 'gentle', I guess, but other than that...
... well, Yavanna needs to either be able to sing, or to have a voice easily emulated by someone who can. In Quenya.

I'll do anything, but would particularly like to do an evil one...I can do a voice like the Witchking! Vair creepy.
I can sing rather well, especially slow elvish sorts of songs, and have a talent for memorizing sounds without knowing the meanings, so I could sing in Quenya. Of course, I prefer to know what it means, but still.

I was curious, which voices are actually needed in FotN, so I made a list: leuxner.alfahosting.org/FotN-Voices.docI hope I didn't forget anyone. If so, correct me! These are single roles; in addition, we need groups of voices for shouting crowds, crowd noise etc. How could that be realized? Recording a couple of single voices and then layering these again and again in the mix to make it sounding like a crowd? Would be the easiest way.

That looks like a good list, derleu. ^^
Re: your idea for crowds, that sounds like it could work pretty well. Another idea might be to have one or two people gather groups together and record them like that; it might be easier to layer if there are more voices in the individual recordings. You're more knowledgable about such things than I am, though, so it'll probably end up being your call on that.

Yeah, recording groups would have better dynamics, but we would have to find such crazy people.
(I saw that PJ went into a rugby stadium and made the audience stomping with their feet and shouting "Grond!", so just go to your local stadium and ask the people to shout "Finweeee!", hahaha)

Hi all.
I just wanted to put my name in the works for some roles.
Feanor, any of his sons, especially Maglor, Maedhros, or Celegorm. Elrond Fingolfin Celeborn Thingol Balrogs Ulmo Turgon Finarfin Earendil Dior Tuor Beren Morgoth Celebrimbor Manwe Fingon Melkor Tulkas
What should I use as the audition piece? Should I just choose a speech from the Silmarillion or other of the works relating to the elder days? Or do you have a specific piece that you would like those of us auditioning to read?

Hopefully Derleu will grace us again with his company. If he shows up perhaps the two of you can get together and work up some things. Chronicler may visit us from time to time. She runs the board, but she isn't around too much these days. Derleu had some great ideas, but I think he got lonely with just a bunch of writers around and no one to get on board with his ideas and what he was wanting to accomplish. It appears that he has a my-space account that he has made available for us to be able to contact him and he has his own music website that he has made available to us, so perhaps you could contact him that way and let him know that you've joined up and maybe he will come back and chat with you.

Tamitha is right that it would be best to try and get with Derleu, if it's possible. Lack of interaction on the board has lead many to fade. I believe that this will be turning around soon, but we may need to beat on our drums to get some of those people back involved.
