Lastly, Irmo I did the same thing as with Este. I had one guy as "The Guy", and then did a switch-a-roo. Lorien doesn't have a big part, but I like Luke for Irmo, he has that look. I think he could do it with no problem and he could easily handle a bigger role. Lórien (Irmo)1st ChoiceLuke Goss(41) 6’1”2nd ChoiceC Crispin Glover(45) 6’1’’3rd ChoiceDoug Jones(49) 6’3’’Well, I'm finish with the Valar. I will probably do the Maiar next to get them out of the way because it will be heavy lifting to figure out the prototypes of the Eldar!

I'm going to post this with no regerts because my brain is too worn right about now. I had placed Jennifer Connelly at the top of the list until I had the mind to elevate her to Varda. Now, I'm just going with my second choice (like I have in the previous two templates). I almost went with Milla because she has such a unique look (kind of like Tilda Swinton has a look) but I'm unsure on the right role for her. Melian...the Maia1st Choice Angelina Jolie(34) 5’8” 2nd Choice Jennifer Connelly(39) 5’7’’ 3rd Choice Milla Jovovich(34) 5’ 8’’ I could just pick someone for looks like Isabella Orsini which I think looks more "Melian" but Angelia favors her enough (and can act whether you like her or not) so I'll stay with my choice. On to Eönwë. I still have Arien and Tilion, but Eonwe will complete the Maiar in FOTN for moment, and Unien and Osse do not appear in the revamped "G" verison of the script.

Note: It would have been nice to post the three choices for each character and had a vote, but voter turn out on the boards is sparse at best. So, if you don't agree whole heartily with the selections, I do apologize. Reiterating for the ump-teen time (more for my on ears/eyes to register than for anyone else), the templates are guidance for illustration purposes. That being said, there was some conscious effort to find actors that possibly could walk into the roles if the film were translated into live action. This however, was not the main determining factor in comprising the individual templates. I felt the need to do an official disclaimer on this. I guess I could have edited an earlier post and tacked this in... ;D Clarity is the key.

There really were no other choices for Eonwe. For some reason, I got "The One" in my head and stuck with him. If you have any other suggestions...post them, please! I hate to post and have people say that, "Awh, that sucked", but give no alternative. For me, this dude is either an Android, Alien, Vampire, Dorian Grey, or a Maiar! I included a picture of him that has a shot from 1994 and 2008. He has aged well...or has he aged at all? He wears a beard and looks scuffy from time to time to throw us all off, but when he shaves and gets his hair done...? EonwëOnly ChoiceKeanu ReevesOf course being in the actions films that he has been in, helped my mind rest on the decision to select him as my only choice. Well...the only other actor that came close (in my mind) was Landon Ashworth, in which, I'm saving, maybe...to play me, Glorfindel! If you are not familar with Mr. Ashworth...

Moving right along to the Noldor. I'll start with the most important players and progress downward. Of course, Feanor is the pivotal role in the FOTN, but I'll start with Finwe and then Feanor (respect the head of the house). Finwë 1st ChoiceDaniel Day-Lewis(52) 6’1’’ 2nd ChoiceRobin Atkin Downes(-) 6’2” 3rd ChoicePierce Brosnan(56) 6’1’’No big to-do on this one. I always had DDL in one of the elf king spots, and felt he was more suited to be Finwe.

Yes, there is a typical "elf" look, but it's hard to stay with that for all the characters, and I resist the idea that they all have to have that particular type of "look". Nevertheless, I've tried to have some kind of consistency while doing the templates. Bare with me on the next dozen or so template selections. Feanor, that fiery spirit is next. I had Mr. Bale and Mr. Caviezel as the front runners for a long while but I've decided to go with Mr. Wolverine...uh, I mean Mr. Jackman. If you have not seen the obscure Sci-Fi movie "The Fountain", please see it. It hits half way to Feanor in the role he does in that movie. Once you have seen it, you'll know why I pushed him to the front of the line. Fëanor1st ChoiceHugh Jackman(41) 6’2’’2nd ChoiceChristian Bale (35) 6'3rd ChoiceJim Caviezel (41) 6' 2"

Excellent choices. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks, I'm trying to make some good selections but I second guess myself on about half the choices. We shall now continue with the House of Finwe. I didn't think that selecting Finwe's first wife would take so long for me. I had an easier time with Indis. There really isn't any pictures or drawings on the web to help me out. The only guide I had is that she is Noldor, and supposedly had silver hair. Then I had to look for an actress that could have silvery hair without looking ridiculous and favored Feanor (Hugh Jackman) enough to look related to him. I also had to make sure that she did not look anything close to Indis. Mìriel1st ChoiceRobin Wright Penn(43) 5’6’’2nd ChoiceAlice Evans(37) 5’7”3rd ChoiceElisabeth Shue(46) 5' 2"

I had who I wanted for Indis in mind for a while. She was someone that I would have made a Valar if I was going with an older look for them. She should match up great with the other cast. Indis1st ChoiceMichelle Pfeiffer (51) 5’7’’2nd ChoiceKim Basinger(56) 5’7’’3rd ChoiceSharon Stone(51) 5’8’’

Interesting choices. i don't I would have thought of them myself, but there certainly is a discernible contrast between them. I think they work.

Wow, your online! I can't remember when that ever happened (I mean when we are both on at the same time) in a long while. I had some issues with age and all but hopfully it will all mesh together alright.

And now...the "half" brothers of Feanor. Boy, this was neck and neck all the way down to posting; I actually did a picture template of the second place choice and then got an idea to use someone that I hadn't even considered strongly until yesterday. He jumped ahead and pushed everyone back and knocked the former third place choice off of the board! I could go on and on as to why but I'm short for time. My "Twilight Saga" rant: It is amazing to me, the grief I sometimes get from my family for admiring the work of Tolkien. Whether when I was working on the FOTN script, or now, when I have ten browser windows open with different actors on them to compare for the templates, I get..."the look". It's if I have gone too far. I need to get back to reality and get a grip. My family don't say it... they look it. They had me second guessing my intent and level of involvement...until it was revealed that I have a couple of Twi-hards in my home! It started off with a general interest in the books three years ago. My daughter checking the first book out from the library because she was bored and had finished "A tall cool one"...or was it "Sisterhood of the traveling pants 2"..I can't remember, but she read Twilight and was generally intrigued by it. She had started on the second book when the "Twilight" movie came out. My wife got curious about the books content after the first movie and she began to read the first book. By the time the second movie came out, my daughter was on the last book (book 4?) and my wife was on "Eclipse". Now I had a divided house between "Team Edward" and "Team Jacob"! I have to endure the back and forth about Bella and her whacked out behavior (my opinion), guys that are like sparkling walking statues, and overheating wolf dudes. They want me to read the books so that I can understand their view points and arguments...but these are the same people that smirked at me when I tried to explain Finwe and the division in his house! That's nothing compared to mentioning Babylon 5 around them! It's also my opinion, that Ms. Meyers grafted traits of the Eldar to her version of the vampires in the Twilight Saga. ...his breath was fragrant and put me in a daze...his gorgeous perfect face...skin glistened like diamonds in the sun...on and on, blah, blah, blah! I'll put Finrod up against Edward and Jake any time. ;D Anyway, why did I post all of this? It's because at least the movie series made me aware of a few actors that could make good templates off of. I had Jude Law as number one for months, but then I had to re-watch Twilight before we all went to see New Moon, and so I made a switch (making last minute switches is becoming a habit). It makes sense to use someone who has already been casted to play a gorgeously handsome sexy beast! Finarfin1st ChoicePeter Facinelli(36) 5’10” 2nd ChoiceJude Law(37) 6’ 3rd ChoiceStuart Townsend(37) 5’11” I was informed that there is a difference between a Twi-hard and a Twilighter...and the aforementioned persons in my commentary are niether...
