The day has finally arrived! I will start posting the script. I would dump the whole thing but it is massive. I have been trying to trim it but it's like trimming a woolly mammoth!
The script was done in MS Word, 12pt. Courier font with normal default margins. It turned out to be 196 pages which was about 30 more than I wanted. I tired to get all the imported plot points and details in with out being overbearing or juvenile about how they were present. It is a lot to go through so I'll post it in sections so comments can be focused on a particular part of the beast and edits made before moving on.
I also started to put in some camera directions in some scenes since I committed myself to do some storyboarding. I hope that they are not a hindrance. The most common used are:
EXT: - Exterior setting INT: - Interior setting MOVING SHOT - following a character, object PAN: Similar to MOVING SHOT - ACROSS - Left to right or vis versa ANGLE ON: Cut away and focus on an item or view momentarily BACK TO SCENE: Cut back to original shot/perspective DISSOLVE: FADE OUT and FADE IN simultaneously between shots
anyway, you may be familiar with this but I though I would stick them up just in case.
After six months (I thought I would take me three) and a lot of research on how to write in script format. Here it finally is!

THE ENTIRE, COMPLETE, "G" VERSION SCRIPT_PRE-EDITED
THE SILMARILLION: Fall of the Noldor
BLACK SCREEN
SUPER: SILMFILM PRESENTS
SUPER: A SILMARILLION FILM PROJECT PRODUCTION
AUDIO F/X: Sound of wind blowing softly
Galadriel (O.S.V.) So you wish to learn of the quest...of the beginning? Why burden your heart with such tales of the past? For what started in joy, turned to woe and tears unnumbered; but yes, I will tell you, since you desire it and think it of importance. Know of the light of Aman, the holy jewels and the quest; for I was there when doom fell on the Noldor.
SUPER: THE SILMARILLION: The Fall of the Noldor
EXT: DARK STARRY NIGHT SKY
PROLOGUE: GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Many things have been claimed as beyond compare. Indeed, many things have been regarded as wonders of the world, but none could match the holy jewels that were made long ago.
DISSOLVE: EXT: LUSH GARDEN - MIRROR OF GALADRIEL - NIGHT
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.)
Come...come look into the mirror, see and learn.
ZOOM IN: MIRROR/BASIN - Water in basin reflects stars, goes black, and then shows three points of light below a dark horizon
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) They were above all the wonders of ages past and beyond what mortal man could make. They were even beyond the skill of any elf, except the one who made them.
MOVING SHOT: Going toward the light in reflection ISOLATE: three sparkling objects that are being held by a male elf and are covered by a decorated cloth.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Fëanor, the son of Finwë, had in him a spirit fiery and more potent than all his kin. In craft he had no rival, and so it was he who made those things that were wondrous, magnificent, and pure. But to have a full understanding of their worth and the ambitions of those who wished to posses them, we must start at the beginning; learn of things before the foundations of the world were established.
DISSOLVE: EXT: Objects in reflection turn into stars in the sky. MOVING SHOT: Through star field to a black plane.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Before all else is Eru, the One, and in him all that is originated. He is Iluvatar, the father of all, and from him came the Ainur which were the offspring of his thoughts.
EXT: (CONT'D): The plane grays, a white light appears. It has a changing color pattern. Small lights spiral out shaded with color but are mostly white. They pulsate with visible sound waves and orbit the white light. The large white light starts to take a humanoid shape
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Eru set forth a theme and bid the Ainur to sing the song of creation. They sang it before him but the mightiest of his holy ones wove discord into the song.
ANGLE ON: Largest of the lesser lights becomes dim, red and pulsates faster; the sound waves become jagged.
BACK TO SCENE GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Melkor, he who arises in might, desired to place into the song his own ambitions and will. But his discord was fought against by Iluvatar's faithful lead by Manwë, the blessed one. Other themes Eru Iluvatar started and finally Eru's mastery overtook all that Melkor attempted, commandeering Melkor’s notes for Eru's own themes.
LONG SHOT: Sound waves blend together and then a big pulse of light washes out all of the waves. The bright figure leads the lights to a skewed image of the world.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Iluvatar showed a vision to the Ainur of what would be made by the music. It was a world wonderful and fair, in which he would bring forth his children, elves and men. Iluvatar allowed many of the Ainur to dwell in Arda, this new world; that they may assist in bring forth the beauty that they saw in the vision and prepare it for his children.
DISSOLVE: SURFACE OF PROMORDIAL EARTH - STORMY - NIGHT. Meteors impact in the distance. Lightning strikes and bright clouds descend to the ground. Forms, like Eru but smaller, rise from the strikes and impacts.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) The greatest of the Ainur are called the Valar, powers of the world. Melkor was there for he was indeed Valar but he worked against the will of Iluvatar and marred the land.
EXT: EXTREME LONG SHOT - LAMPS OF THE VALAR. The lamps fall slowly and fire erupts as they hit the ground.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) He darkened the light that the Valar had put in the world and destroyed their dwelling places. They fought bitterly against him but finally resigned to make a home away from his reach. So lead by Manwë, now King of Arda, and Varda his queen, they departed Middle Earth. They made new homes in the land of Aman which was across the great sea, in the region called Valinor.
DISSOLVE: EXT: OCEAN - TWILIGHT MOVING SHOT: Across the ocean to a pristine beach and then rich green pastures
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) There they did works of wonder, and above all, the two trees. Crafted by Yavanna and watered by the tears of Nienna, the trees of Valinor grew in beauty and grace.
CUT TO: EXT: VALINOR - GREEN HILL - TWILIGHT LONG SHOT: Yavanna stands with hands out toward trees. Nienna knells while they grow and bloom
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) The Valar did not forget the coming of the elves, first born of Iluvatar. They did not want them to be alone in darkness. Varda put bright stars in the heavens for them.
EXT: GLITTERING POOLS - GREEN HILL - TREE LIGHT MED. SHOT: Two arms dip into a pool. Hands are lifted to the sky. They sparkle like glitter and stars slowly appear.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) It was finally decided to gather the elves and bring them to the Blessed Realm, away from Melkor. Oromë, the hunter, went forth on his horse Nahar to lead them to Aman.
CUT TO:
EXT: CUIVIENEN (LAKE) - TWILIGHT CLOSE UP: Sparks jump from Nahar's hoofs as he goes up a ridge that over looks a camp of elves
CUT TO:
LONG SHOT: Elves look in wonder and fear at Oromë on Nahar.
GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Melkor tried to hinder the elves' journey through Middle-earth. He posed a threat too great to go unchallenged. The Valar rose up to battle and Melkor's army was defeated. Mighty Tulkas then bound Melkor with a great chain that was made by Aulë, the blacksmith.
INT: MED. SHOT: Utumno - Hall - Dark Tulkas is seen with his knee on the back of Melkor, holding him, and locking the chain GALADRIEL (O.S.V.) Melkor was lead away to be held in the Halls of Mandos for three ages...until the appointed time.
DISSOLVE: INT: From Melkor and Tulkas to a beautiful large tapestry depicting that event in the Halls of Mandos

Scene 1: The Summons
INT: HALL OF MANDOS - DECORATED CHAMBER - COUNTINUOUS MOVING SHOT: PAN ACROSS LARGE TAPESTRY ON WALL
Depictions of past events are shown. There is a long hallway with a high ceiling connecting with the wall. A strong militaristic figure approaches from the hall. He stops some distance away. Two figures come from opposite corners to greet the figure. Only their backs can be seen. The figure bows and speaks
Eonwë: (to the two who approached) Mistress Nienna and Master Mandos, the hour draws near and the rest of the Valar gather at Mahanaxar.
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: The faces of Mandos and Nienna are shown. He looks grimly forward while she looks at him then Eonwë
Nienne: (to Eonwë) Yea Eonwë, we have been expecting thine arrival.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: EONWE - MOUTH OF THE HALLWAY
Eonwë: (to both) Then I respectfully ask, in the name of King Manwë, that the prisoner to be brought to the Ring of Doom.
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Mandos does not move. Nienne nods her head slightly and then impatiently addresses Mandos.
Nienna: (to Mandos) Námo, Eonwë has delivered the request.
Mandos: (to Nienna) Yea sister, he has done what he was sent to do.
Nienne: (to Mandos) Námo, shall we not proceed as requested?
ANGLE ON: Mandos looks at the tapestry and then turns partially to motion with his hand for someone.
BACK TO SCENE:
Mandos: (to Nienna) We shall proceed. Tell my wife Vaire, to delay her weaving for a while and come with her husband, for it is time.
Nienna: (to Mandos) Yea brother.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Nienna smiles slightly. ZOOM OUT SLOW: She leaves as two servants, tall and sparkling, approach Mandos and bow
Mandos: (to servants) Fetch him.
INT (CONT'D): The two servants turn and walk down the hall
Mandos: (to Eonwë) It is done Eonwë. We will be there before the mingling of the light.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: Eonwë bows.
CUT TO: MED SHOT: Mandos looks at the tapestry and frowns. ZOOM IN SLOW: Tapestry; the images of large silver and gold trees.

Scene 2 - Fëanor and Finwë at the Trees
DISSOLVE: EXT: OUTSKITS OF THE CITY OF VALMAR (CITY OF THE VALAR) - LONG SHOT: THE TWO TREES - TREES EMINANT LIGHT
The tapestry changes into the setting of the real trees. MED. SHOT: Fëanor stands on a path about three furlongs (603m) from the trees. As he looks at the trees, his father approaches and stands next to him.
Finwë: (to Fëanor) Even after all the long ages, their splendor is still beyond what many words can tell. I also like to come here to be closer to their light, but I am surprised to see you away from your forge.
Fëanor: (to Finwë) Did I surprise you father? Truly the most surprising and amazing thing, is the wonderment of Telperion and Laurelin.
Finwë: (turns towards Fëanor) Yes, but it would also be wonderment to have you come visit my table. Long has it been since you were last there. Fëanor, a celebration is being planned, and I would like for you and your brothers...
Fëanor: (to Finwë but looking at the trees) The trees called me...at least it felt as if they did. I was on my way for supplies, as I pasted, they seemed to...call me. They are mesmerizing. I can only imagine how it must have been for you when you first saw them.
Finwë: (turns back to trees) Called you? That is unusual my son, but you are correct that they are mesmerizing. Of all the things that I witnessed when we were brought here, yes, the vision of their beauty was everlasting in my mind. When I returned to our people, I spoke of them first. They inspired me to persevere through long years on the difficult road to Aman.
Fëanor: (turns to Finwë) They are one of the few things that still impress me here in Aman although all here is fair. For them alone, it was worth the hardship of the journey.
Finwë: (to Fëanor) The blessed light here was worth it though the enemy railed against our coming. There was loss on that road, for some that set out on that journey never came to the Blessed Realm; but then, there has been loss here in Aman.
MOVING SHOT: Finwë turns slowly and starts to walk away; Fëanor follows after him
Fëanor: (walking behind Finwë) Father, are you alright?
Finwë: (pauses, turns to Fëanor) Yes, Fëanor, I'm fine.
Fëanor: (to Finwë, earnestly) I know that you have born many burdens and it is not my wish to add to them. My endeavors have kept me away from you and I am sorry for it, but I am near something great; I can feel it in my spirit. I just want to make something of great importance; craft something as Yavanna did when she created these two trees. I wish to bless you father, and bless all of Aman.
Finwë: (concern, sad) Yes Fëanor. You have great ambitions but you have already created works of wonder that you should be proud of. You do not mean to worry me, yet I remain concerned. In the house of Finwë...I have sons that barely speak to each other. Then there is Nerdanel and your sons...I now wonder if I did you a great disservice in the past and have caused such things to be.
Fëanor: (compassion) There is no need to question your heart or your choices now. You have always been near to me in my dire need. Although I have not warmly greeted your every decision, I will always be your son; in name and in deed I will honor you. My wife is well and your grandsons are growing in skill and spirit. They just like to wander and explore as I did when I was...
Finwë: (interrupting) Curufinwë, you have achieved much, and will go on to do even more exceedingly marvelous works I know. I will trust you to make the mastering of your own home one of them.
Fëanor: (serious) Yes father. It will be so.
Finwë: (slight smile) I must go. I seek Lord Aulë so I am off to his forge. Maybe I will see Curufin who visits often to learn craft. I was telling you earlier that I am calling for a celebration to mark the time which the Noldor arrived here in Aman. I like more that just Noldor to attend, but if you could...
Fëanor: (interrupting) If you need to speak with Lord Aulë, it may be some time before you get an audience. I heard that he was on his way to Mahanaxar. Some say there is important business to be discussed. Do you know what is going on father?
Finwë: (puzzled) I have heard rumor, but I did not think that the time was at hand. Now I really must be off, farewell Fëanor.
Fëanor: (to Finwë) Farewell. CUT TO: LONG SHOT: Fëanor holds his hand out to salute his father then he lowers it and turns back to look at the trees FADE TO BLACK:

Scene: 3 - The Ring of Doom
FADE IN: EXT: STREETS OF VALMAR NEAR THE GOLD GATES LONG SHOT: The host of Oromë on horseback is revealed coming down the main street. At the last intersection near the gates is a large fountain, Ulmo rises out of its waters with horns sounding. Oromë halts.
AUDIO/FX: Horses and Ulmo's Horn heard
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: OROME AND ULMO
Oromë: (to Ulmo) Hail, Lord Ulmo. Not oft is the Lord of waters seen in Valimar or elsewhere in Aman. It has been ages since I have seen the one who helped me bring the Eldar here.
Ulmo: (to Oromë) It has been a long time since I was last here, for work remains in Middle Earth and aid is needed for the Eldar there. Then the younger children are soon to come.
MOVING SHOT: Ulmo turns and walks beside Oromë. They travel down the street and through the Golden Gate.
Oromë: (to Ulmo, thinking) Yes, the after-born. They are soon to come to Middle Earth without any direct aid from us, though they might need it. It makes this council an even more interesting matter.
Ulmo: (to Oromë, grim) I almost repent that I helped thee in the bringing forth of the Eldar here, as I almost repent that I have come to the Ring of Doom this day.
Oromë: (to Ulmo, grim) We are in total agreement on the latter. EXT (CONT'D): Elves bow and greet the Valar as they approach the entrance into Mahanaxar. The two enter in.
CUT TO: EXT: GREEN PLAIN NEAR MAHANAXAR LONG SHOT: Across the plain on a path are seen Nienna, Vaire with Melkor behind them and Mandos behind him.
DISSOLVE: EXT: ENTERANCE INTO MAHANAXAR Elves near by smile and greet Nienna and Vaire but they are silent as Melkor passes. His raiment is worn and his face is covered from view. He is slumped over.
CUT TO: INT: MAHANAXAR "THE RING OF DOOM" - CONTINUOUS LONG SHOT: The Valar settle into their positions.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Eonwë stands in front and speaks
Eonwë: (to all) Today, as appointed in ages past, Melkor comes forth, Ainur and once...Vala!
CUT TO: INT (CONT'D): ENTRANCE OF MAHANAXAR MED. SHOT: In entrance Melkor stands, his head bowed with the others behind him. Vaire touches Mandos; goes to be seated.
Eonwë: O.S.V. (to Melkor) Melkor, abide in the ring.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: Melkor goes slowly to the ring's center with the noise of the chain.
Eonwë: O.S.V. (to Melkor) It was appointed that thou dwell in the Halls of Mandos for three ages as punishment for rebelling against Iluvatar’s will, which thou marred the works that were done in his name by the Valar. Has this sentence been completed?
CUT TO: MED SHOT: MANDOS
Mandos: (to Eonwë, Manwë) I, Lord of the Halls of Waiting, certify his captivity.
CUT TO: MED SHOT: EONWE
Eonwë: (to Melkor) Melkor, what say thou now of thy dark ambitions?
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: Melkor looks up and reveals his face clearly for the first time as he looks at Manwë
Melkor: (to all, hesitant) What do I say? I say this...I have caused great harm to Arda. Much has been destroyed because of a jealous heart... that did not completely...comprehend.
CLOSE UP (CONT'D): Melkor moves toward Manwë with the chain dragging and making loud noises
Melkor: (to Manwë) Brother, if thou would allow me to remain. I beg thee, Manwë, that thee hear my plea. Just make me the least of the free people in Aman.
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: MANWE AND VARDA Manwe is in deep thought as is Varda seated next to him.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Melkor drops to his knees
Melkor: (to Manwë, to all) I will aid ye in all ye works, and in the healing of the many hurts that I caused in my arrogance.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: PAN: Valar in silence, then one laughs and keeps on until it's revealed to be Tulkas. ISOLATE: TULKAS
Tulkas: (to Melkor) Thou find the ground easily now to beg pardon. It was not so when we last met, but a task that I was glad to help thee achieve. (to Valar) Should we lend ear to the one who tried to lead so many astray? Even as we sang the song of Eru for the creation of the world, he was attempting to sow discord with his every note!
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: NIENNE
Nienne: (to Tulkas) Tulkas, his heart has changed through years of anguish and regret while in my brother’s halls.
ZOOM OUT SLOW: TWO SHOT: Nienne looks at Mandos next to her as he stares forward, saying nothing; she continues
Nienne: (turning to the other Valar) I know, for I have spoken to him often and have witnessed his torment. I believe his heart is truly grieved.
CUT TO: MED SHOT: TULKAS
Tulkas: (to Nienna) Grieved?!
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: NIENNA - welling up with tears
Nienna: (to Tulkas) Yes, grieved for all the harm and hurt that has been done, for the crimes committed and for the loss, of, so many...
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: TULKAS - talking and using his hands to talk
Tulkas: (to Nienna, chuckling) Ah, grieved alright! He is grieved that his plans fell through, grieved that he did not turn more Ainur to his dark path, and grieved that Tulkas descended into the world to help bring about his defeat!
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: YAVANNA - stands up quickly, intense
Yavanna: (to Tulkas) Enough! I too have witness the atrocities of Melkor, but thou are the one now in danger of sowing discord. This is no simple matter for any and it strikes deep in the heart of all who labored long in preparation for the coming of Iluvatar's children. Strife of the past does lie between us, but we must strive to become a reconciled people so that peace may be achieved. Would not Eru Iluvatar himself want this?
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: TULKAS
Tulkas: (to Nienna) I am, regretful, for the tone and vigor in which I spoke to thee, Nienna. I did not mean...I would not want thee to...
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: NIENNA - comes in frame, next to Tulkas
Nienna: (to Tulkas, kind) Don’t be troubled Tulkas Astaldo. I will not hold thy words spoken in passion against thee; but should we be more forgiving to all and extend pardon to those who ask it?
INT: Silent for a few seconds as the Valar contemplate, then with a clear and powerful voice, Manwë speaks
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: THRONE OF MANWE
Manwë: (to Melkor) Melkor...rise.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: MELKOR - gets up off of his knees
Manwë: (to all) One thing rings true and shines pure as the light of the two trees mingled this very hour. Yavanna is correct. Iluvatar did intend for all of his holy ones to work together in doing his will here in Arda. Would I refuse one that is willing now to accept this truth, although it took bitter learning and chastisement to realize it? Melkor, I grant thee pardon. Thou will be given the opportunity to help heal the wounds that were inflicted during thy days of error. There are some who may perceive thy freedom as somewhat, premature; so thy freedom has the condition that thou stay within the limits of Valimar until otherwise given leave.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: MELKOR
Melkor: (to Manwë) Gladly will I do all that thou bid me do, gladly.
ZOOM OUT: He bows to one knee and stands back up.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: EONWE - standing on steps near Manwë Eonwë: (to all) Harken ye in Mahanaxar, the Ring of Doom. Let it be known in all of Aman that the decree has gone forth from King Manwë Sulimo, that Melkor be pardon and set free within the limits of Valmar this very hour.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: PAN VALAR Silence as everyone now looks at Melkor and then at Aulë
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: AULE Aulë sits on the far side of the ring. His hand is stroking his chin and he is deep in thought, half-paying attention to what’s going on. He is nudged by Yavanna with a smile.
Aulë: (in Melkor's direction) Oh my! I had almost forgotten about you.
MOVING SHOT: Aulë walks over and stands next to Melkor. He grabs the chain on Melkor to study it closely.
Aulë: (to himself) Ah yes, Angainor, I had forgot about thee and the labor it took to get thee just right. Let us see, what was the correct combination of ore in the making of Tilkal alloy? I think the hardest thing was maintaining the temperature...
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Aulë looks over and sees Melkor’s strangely blank face with just one eyebrow raised.
Melkor: (to Aulë) Do go on, Lord Aulë.
Aulë: (to Melkor) Well, perhaps another time, maybe.
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: MOVING SHOT: Aulë unlocks the chain and it comes off hitting the ground with a thud.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Manwë greets Melkor. A few of the other Valar come by and briefly greet Melkor but not Tulkas, Oromë, or Ulmo.
DISSOLVE: LONG SHOT: Melkor makes for the exit with a few Valar watching him in the distance. Ulmo approaches Manwë and Varda
Ulmo: (to Manwë) A generous and righteous thing to do, but was it wisest?
Manwë: (to Ulmo) I believe so friend, I pray to Eru that all will be well.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Melkor walks toward the gate, standing tall with new raiment on. ANGLE ON: His eyes are dark red and appear to be like hot coals and flames in a furnace.

Scene: 4 - Fëanor’s Forge
DISSOLVE: INT: FEANOR'S FORGE - CONTINUOUS CLOSE UP: A furnace full of flame. ZOOM OUT SLOW: There is a container in the flames that is connected to a long thick handle with a hand gripping it. Fëanor's voice is heard.
Fëanor: O.S.V. Heat is at the right level, now if I can keep it constant.
INT: Fëanor’s free hand is seen reaching to the container and dropping something in it. There is a puff of colored smoke which Fëanor fans away.
Fëanor: No! By Aulë’s beard, too much color! Alright then, I will start from the beginning, again.
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: Contents of the container are dumped out on nearby workbench and tumble loudly. They look like thick, glob like pieces of glass. They lands near some of Fëanor’s tools on the table. ZOOM OUT SLOWLY: Open books and notes are scattered on the table. He scoops some green powder from a bowl on a high self. A few completed works are seen (jewels, lanterns, palantir, etc.). He pours the power and other items into container. He mumbles elvish, low and almost indiscernible
Fëanor: (low) Garo, garo godref, dartha, we will see now. CUT TO: MED. SHOT: He places a few small clear crystals into the container with a strange tool. There is a hissing and a light is shown getting brighter, changing colors, and shining out of the furnace in front of Fëanor as he speaks more low and almost indiscernible elvish
Fëanor: (low) Calen, malen, elu...it is almost there.
CLOSE UP: Fëanor’s face is lit with the furnace fire mingled with the light of whatever is in the container
Fëanor: It will hold this time. Yes, yes, finally, I have achieved the first part, now...
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: He takes the container out of the furnace and places it on the table. He takes out the contents which are barely in view. White light shines from the bench, and it dims and then brightens off and on. It starts to flicker.
Fëanor: (upset) No, no, no!
CUT TO: EXT: OUTSIDE FEANOR'S FORGE LONG SHOT: Nerdanel approaching while sounds of small explosions and yelling can be heard. She knocks on the door
AUDIO/FX: SMALL EXPLOSIONS, YELLING, KNOCKS ON THE DOOR
Fëanor: O.S.V. (to Nerdanel) Just a moment!
AUDIO/FX: Clanking noises; sound of a great lock being unlocked CUT TO: INT: FEANOR'S FORGE DOORWAY MOVING SHOT:The door opens and Nerdanel comes in. Nerdanel enters and sits on the edge of table
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor, curious) Fëanor, is there some trouble, here?
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Fëanor talks as he puts tools away
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel) No my wife, just setbacks. I am finished for now. I was about to take a break and go for walk to clear my head.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Nerdanel sitting
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) You, take a break, and leave? Now that sounds very, very odd. Are you sure that you are alright?
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Fëanor facing Nerdanel
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel, frustrated) Just why are you here Nerdanel?
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) Why? ...long ago there was no questioning as to ‘why’, just gladness that I was here.
TWO SHOT CONT'D: Both are silent, as if they were trying to remember the past
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) I am in search of those you seem to value less than craft; our sons. Have you seen any of our children Fëanor?
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel) I have not, but they are probably out exploring, seeking to know. They will cease one day as I have.
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) My wish is that their father would seek to know more of them.
TWO SHOT CONT'D: She walks closer to Fëanor and takes his right hand in hers
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor, soft, kind) You speak half truth. You have stopped wandering on foot but you are ever wandering in your mind; going places where you do not ask me to accompany you. Lately, many of your thoughts have kept from me.
TWO SHOT CONT'D: He slowly pulls away with a cold look
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel) Nerdanel, some paths are meant to be traveled in solitude. Perhaps there are a few beyond your ability to traverse.
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) Many paths we have walked together, from the making of fair things to ones that lead to seven sons. You have chosen to forsake those paths for new ones that require locked doors!
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel, upset) You were the one that first stopped coming by... (Sigh) it matters little now. Nerdanel, for what need are you attempting to gather all my sons?
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor, sharply) You have not forgotten about the celebration commissioned by your father? The time is drawing near.
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel, loud, grim) No, I have not forgotten! I have marked it well and have calculated hard on how to avoid it!
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor, upset) Fëanor! You don't mean to disappoint your father do you?
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel, sarcastic, loud) Shall I disappoint my father? No, I will not disappoint; he has two other sons that are proficient in doing that!
LONG SHOT: DOORWAY Maglor and Maedhros open the door to the forge and quickly walk in on either side of Nerdanel and bow CUT TO: FOUR SHOT: MAEDHROS, MAGLOR, FEANOR, NERDANEL
Maedhros: (to parents) Father, Mother.
Nerdanel: (to Maedhros, then to Maglor) Hello Maedhros. Maglor, where are your other brothers?
Maglor: (to Nerdanel) I could only find Maedhros, mother.
Fëanor: (to Maedhros) Maedhros, you are still spending more time with your cousin Fingon than your own brothers. As the oldest; you should be the one to keep watch over them, the twins especially.
Maedhros: (to Fëanor) Yes father.
Nerdanel: (to Maedhros, then to Maglor) Maedhros, see if Curufin is at Aulë's forge. Maglor, please inquire at Lord Oromë's mansion to see if Celegrom has been by; try to find Canathir along the way.
Fëanor: (to Maedhros and Maglor) Farewell my sons. Do not be late at the Mansion of Finwë.
FOUR SHOT CONT'D: Sons bow, leave; Nerdanel turns to Fëanor
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) So, you will be there Fëanor?
Fëanor: (to Nerdanel) But of course, I’ll be there. I will sit at my father’s table, as eldest of my father’s sons, less Fingolfin and Finarfin forget their places.
Nerdanel: (to Fëanor) I don’t think that they will. I am glad that you will be there...and on time. I would be even happier if you located our twins sons since you are already leaving for a walk.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: She bows slowly and leaves

Scene: 5 - Taniquetil
WIPE: EXT: MANSION OF MANWE AND VARDA LONG SHOT: Manwë stands near an area where he can see out, Ulmo stands next to him. Varda is seated in the distance
Ulmo: (to Manwë) I believe that I have stayed overlong Manwë. If I can have thy leave, I will be on my way.
Manwë: (to Ulmo) Thou wish to depart soon Lord Ulmo? Thine present is seldom felt in Aman and I have waited long ages to speak to thee in person. I remember how we labored together in ages past.
Ulmo: (to Manwë) The early ages of the world had many glad days of work, but I now prefer the solitude of my halls in the deeps. It is not my desire to be clad in the semblance of the Eldar as the other Valar wish to do. Such things may prove to be a disservice and confusion may arise because of it.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: MOVING SHOT: Varda stands and walks to the two
Varda: (to Ulmo) Lord Ulmo, we are aware of possible misconceptions but the ability to walk among the Eldar allows us to teach, guide, and interact with them in a more personal manner.
Manwë: (to, Ulmo) Varda is correct. The Valar are to help them grow to their full potential for the glory of Eru. We can establish mentorship and friendship more readily in this manner.
Ulmo: (to, both) Perhaps, but you know that I have differed concerning other issue. I have never wanted the Eldar gathered here like chicks that a mother bird gathers to the nest.
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Manwë and Varda
Manwë: (to Ulmo) Command was not given, but invitation; there are no bonds to keep them here, and not all decided to come to Aman for a good number stayed in Middle Earth as thou knowst.
Varda: (to Ulmo) Eldar have thrived here in Aman Lord Ulmo. Ingwe and his people use to dwell in Tirion, but moved to the foot of the holy mountain out of love and devotion for Manwë. Thou knowst Olwe who governs in Alqualonde and reverences thee and thy Maier.
Manwë: (to Ulmo) Finwë, king of the Noldor, lost his wife soon after child birth. This was a grievous event which gravely affected him. The son that was born has grown to be one of the greatest in craft in all of Arda; only Iluvatar knows the limits of his skills. Yet Finwë was still saddened by his lost. He was finally able to regain much of his bliss by marrying again to one of Ingwe’s kin and his House thrives. CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Ulmo looking out toward the plains below
Ulmo: (to, both) All seems well, and I doubt not that all was done out of love for the children of Iluvatar. Time may prove that the coming of the Eldar to Aman was for the best; I hope that it will be so, despite their former persecutor being among them now.

CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Feanor and the twins
Fëanor: (to Melkor, coolly) I am fine.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Melkor Melkor: (to Fëanor) Glad to finally see thee here for I knowest that thou seldom come. I have some experience with crafting, so Aulë suffers me to sit and teach a portion of my knowledge to all who wish to learn. I hope to see thee again soon.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: Fëanor nods grimly and walks down a path on the side the mansion towards the forge. Wide-eyed, Amrod and Amras bow and follow Fëanor.

Scene: 7 - House of Finwë
DISSOLVE: INT: Finwë’s mansion TWO SHOT: Finwë and Indis are in a large upper room with a view of the streets and square. They stand near a great window and he's looking at the elves below
Indis: (to Finwë) The preparations will be completed by the waning of the silver tree. The great hall has the seating finished and...Finwë, my love, what is on your mind?
Finwë: (to Indis, sad) Looking at the faces of my people, I am glad for them. Many have found peace and joy here, but for me...my bliss seems diminished though I should be overjoyed as they are.
Indis: (to Finwë) My husband, my King, put your troubles away. I have long known that I could never...wholly, replace Miriel but you can put your mind at ease with the knowledge that I love you and I will always do what I can to bring peace to you.
TWO SHOT CONT'D: He turns and holds both her hands in his
Finwë: (to Indis) My love is with you too Indis. I did grieve long because of that loss but, there was no attempt to replace a former wife when I sought after you. I desired to be with you, one so fair, kind and loving. It is not for the loss of Miriel which occupies me at this hour dear wife.
TWO SHOT CONT'D: MOVING SHOT: They walk slowly away from the window
Finwë: (Indis) There is little doubt, that there is at least a semblance of division in my own house, and at worse, a great rift. I love all of my sons; I wish for them to love each other as brothers should in the Blessed Realm.
Indis: (to Finwë) Then perhaps the celebration could serve a purpose that was not planned for. We will celebrate the coming of the host from Middle Earth to Aman, but let us also make this a time to renew our family bonds, with honor and love.
TWO SHOT CONT'D: They stop and look at each other. She touches his face and runs her fingers through part of his dark hair. He slowly pulls her close to embrace her but is interrupted by knock on the door.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Fingolfin appears in the doorway and speaks with authority and respect as he bows
Fingolfin: (to both) Father, Mother, peace to you and blessedness. All is nearly ready, but your presence is needed to approve a few of the final arrangements.
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Finwë and Indis
Finwë: (to Fingolfin) Yes, of course Fingolfin my son. We were just about to head to the great hall. Please lead the way and explain the matters at hand.
MOVING SHOT: The two walk to the doorway and join Fingolfin. They all leave out together.

Scene: 8 - Aulë's Forge
WIPE: INT: Inside Aulë's forge MED. SHOT: Maedhros stands next to Mahtan talking, Curufin works on a metal piece at a table and Aulë walks towards the entrance as Fëanor comes in with the twins
Aulë: (to Fëanor, happy) Well surprises continue to happen in Aman! How art thou Fëanor son of Finwë?!
Fëanor: (to Aulë) I am well Lord Aulë.
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: Aulë
Aulë: (to Fëanor) Two more of thy sons grace my forge; well this is a surprisingly great day. I have even heard that thou will be at your father’s feast. Rare for Finwë to have all his sons together, quite rear indeed!
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Fëanor frowns because of Aulë's comments
Fëanor: (to Aulë, frown) Are you leaving soon Lord Aulë? It was mentioned that you were about to depart.
Aulë: (to Fëanor, thinking) ...yea, there is some small business with Yavanna. Then, I am on my way to the feast. Well, farewell and anon Fëanor; may grace and great skill be upon thee!
MED. SHOT CONT'D: Aulë leaves and Mahtan walks toward the twins smiling and embraces them with Maedhros close behind
Mahtan: (to twins, pleased) Blessed is this hour to have seen so many of my grandsons in such short space of time. Amrod, Amras, will your adventures and wanderings always keep you from me?
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: AMRAS AND AMROD
Amras: (to Mahtan) No grandfather Mahtan, but exploring and hunting -
Amrod: (to Mahtan) quickens our souls. To stay home would be to us -
Amras: (to Mahtan) as troubling as staying away from the forge -
Amrod: (to Mahtan) would be to you.
CUT TO: MED SHOT: Twins, Fëanor, Mahtan and Maedhros
Mahtan: (to twins, then to Fëanor) Yes, I know. Fëanor, I am happy to hear that you will leave your solitude and be present at the celebration.
Fëanor: (to Mahtan) I see that you are well Mahtan, and keeping Curufin busy.
CUT TO: MED SHOT: Curufin at a table working on a silver cup
Mahtan: O.S.V. (to Fëanor) Yes, he is excelling in the broad concepts but needs some work on the finer points. Maybe a lack of imagination is the problem. It is time to take him under your wing Fëanor.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Feanor and the others
Fëanor: (to Curufin) Curufin, you will have to finish that later. You must off to Finwë’s Hall to help with the preparations.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: Rising from his seat, Curufin speaks
Curufin: (to Fëanor) Father, I am about to finish. I just need to...
Fëanor: (cutting Curufin off) Always do as I advise.
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: CURUFIN
Curufin: (to Fëanor, submissive) Yes, always Father.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Fëanor turns slightly and notices some gems on a near by table. Curufin walks up and stands next to him ANGLE ON: Small amounts of white/blue power; gems. BACK TO SCENE: Fëanor walks over and feels the powder
Fëanor: (to Mahtan) Tell me Mahtan, why does Lord Aulë have this other...Vala, stay in his stead when he is off on errand?
Mahtan: (to Fëanor) Lord Melkor? He visits often and has been a help. Lord Aulë will ever have the mastery of crafting beyond him, but Lord Melkor does have knowledge that is, different, and helpful.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: CLOSE UP: Fëanor takes two gemstones from his belt as he thinks and mumbles to himself
Fëanor: (to himself, low) It may work. Yes...
Curufin: O.S.V. (to Fëanor) Father, what is the matter?
Fëanor: (to Curufin, then to all sons) Nothing Curufin; I just found out that to a degree, I too suffered from a lack of imagination, but no longer. My sons bid your grandfather Mahtan farewell and be off.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Maedhros, the twins and Mahtan
Maedhros: (to Fëanor) Father, are you coming with us?
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Fëanor
Fëanor: (to Maedhros) No, I must tend to an urgent matter but I will be there.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: Fëanor leaves out MOVING SHOT: The others follow and stop near the path as he leaves for his forge. Melkor stands up again from his place
Mahtan: (to his grandsons) Now be off to your duties. I hope to see you later on.
MED. SHOT: The four grandsons bow to Mahtan and leave
Melkor: (to Mahtan) Thy daughter Nerdanel’s husband is truly impressive; quite sure of himself.
Mahtan: (to Melkor) Fëanor’s skills have long surpassed all of the Noldor and there is little left of crafting for him to learn. Nerdanel use to craft with him, but now he works alone in his forge.
Melkor: What of his of brothers and Finwë his father?
Mahtan: Fëanor loves his father, but no so his brothers, not even before their births. Finwë may have miscalculated the space in his house. Fëanor occupies more room than ten sons with lesser spirits.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: Both look in the direction where Fëanor went off to
Melkor: (to Mahtan) I deem that he has conceived some new brilliant idea of craft to achieve. Fëanor, yea, spirit of fire most assuredly.
Mahtan: (to Melkor, somber) Yes, most assuredly.

Scene: 9 - Final Preparations
FADE IN: INT: Finwë's Mansion LONG SHOT: Large hallway opens to a heavily decorated seating area with elves in conversations with each other. MOVING SHOT: Finwë, Indis and Fingolfin walk down the hall together. Finarfin leaps up from a seat in the seating area and walks quickly to the group as they walk by Fingolfin: (to Finwë and Indis) Most of the honored guests have sent word that they will attend and should be arriving shortly. Lord Aulë will be arriving soon but Lord Oromë still has not informed us of his decision to attend. One of his servants said that Oromë was aware...
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Finwë notices Finarfin coming up quickly and causes Fingolfin to pause
Finwë: (to Finarfin) Ah, Finarfin, glad to see that you are already here my son.
Finarfin: (to Finwë and Indis) Greetings father, mother; it was my intent to be here sooner but I was delayed by a small errand.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Finarfin bows quickly and joins them as they make their way into another section of long hallway.
Finwë: (to Finarfin) Do not worry Finarfin. You have arrived with plenty of time to spare.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: The group continues down the hallway to a large balcony at the end of the hallway and is connected to a vast stairway leading down. The balcony looks out over a large atrium that starts on the first floor but ascend three stories. Oroderth is coming up the stairs.
Finarfin: (to Orodreth) Orodreth, did you bring your brothers and sister to the great hall?
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: Orodreth on stairs
Orodreth: (to Finarfin, bows to all) They are still in the square father. I have come to tell you that grandfather Olwe has arrived.
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Finwë and Indis
Finwë: (to Orodreth) That is very good news Orodreth, thank you grandson. It seems that the guests are arriving as scheduled. I’m glad that King Olwe came... (to Indis) I do wish that Ingwe would have been able to attend. Having the High King of the Elves back in Tirion would be an honor.
Indis: (to Finwë) That was my wish too, but with the Festival of First Fruits is drawing near, he prefers to stay near to Manwë.
Finwë: (to Indis, to sons) He must be about his duties and I would never begrudge his absent. My sons, have you seen your brother Fëanor?
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Fingolfin and Finarfin on stairs silent for a moment
Finarfin: (to Finwë) I have not seen your son, but he will surely be here at least at the appointed time.
Fingolfin: Yes father; he will be here soon enough. Now, there are still a few outstanding issues that need your attention.
CUT TO: LONG SHOT: They all walk down the stairs when Turgon and Elenwë walk through the large front entranceway. They bow
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Turgon and Elenwë in Arched Doorway
Turgon: (to all, to Fingolfin) I extend greetings and blessings to you, my family. Father, Fingon is on his way with Aredhel.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: Orodreth and others coming off of the stairway MOVING SHOT: The group walks up to Turgon and Elenwë
Orodreth: (to Turgon) Are you sure Turgon? I saw them with Angrod and Aegnor heading away from the square just a short while ago.
Finwë: (to Turgon) It may be best if you and Orodreth go and look for them.
Orodreth and Turgon: (to Finwë) Yes grandfather Finwë.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: They bow quickly and leave out through the front entry. Indis turns to Elenwë and smiles
Indis: (to Elenwë) Come with us Elenwë. I have been meaning to talk to you about...more great-grandchildren. [Laughs]
MED. SHOT CONT'D: MOVING SHOT: They laugh and smile as they start to walk through the atrium towards large archway on the other side of the atrium.
Elenwë: (to Indis, laughing) One is not enough I suppose?
Indis: (to Elenwë, smiling) Well, you have done so well with your daughter Indril; why not continue such fine crafting?

Scene: 10 - Family in the Square of Tirion
WIPE: EXT: Outdoor sitting area close to the square MED. SHOT: Maglor leans on the wall just inside an archway singing and playing the harp. Caranthir stands near the archway with a frown on his face. A few maidens stop, listen, and smile before moving on. Caranthir smiles and tries to get them to notice him but he is ignored. Celegrom comes out of a door near the archway Celegrom: (to all, loud) Well, this is great; a lot of standing around and waiting. I rushed from Lord Oromë’s mansion for this?
Maglor: (to Celegrom) It will get better soon, once everyone arrives. I thought that you liked parties Celegrom?
Celegrom: (to Maglor) I do, I just dislike waiting.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: Two smiling maidens stop to listen to Maglor play. He motions with his head towards Caranthir. They look at him and smile less. They look back at Maglor with negative looks and walk away. Maglor shrugs his shoulders.
Maglor: (to Celegrom) You are right Celegrom. I have never liked the waiting either, but for some, it is more painful than for others.
MED SHOT: He looks at Caranthir and laughs a little. Celegrom realizes what’s going on, smiles and laughs too.
Celegrom: (to Maglor, laughing) Well, a nice tune can only do so much!
Caranthir: (to Celegrom, to Maglor) Let us be off, anything but standing around here! Maglor, tell mother that we went to the leather workshop!
Celegrom: (to Caranthir) What do you mean "we" Caranthir?
Caranthir: (to Celegrom) Have you not some boots to pick up or something? Anything is better than wasting time here.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: He starts to walk away talking loudly and looking back at Maglor
Caranthir: (to Maglor) Your song selection could use improvement!
Celegrom: (to Caranthir, laughs) Alright then Caranthir, off we go! (to Maglor) Farewell brother, tell mother that we will be back soon.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: MOVING SHOT: Celegrom steps quickly to follow Caranthir
Maglor: O.S.V. (to Caranthir) Sorry Caranthir, I will try better next time!
MED. SHOT CONT'D: MOVING SHOT: Caranthir passes by the white tree with Celegrom behind him. Finrod and Galadriel enter the square. They greet the two brothers but only Celegrom replies in kind. They walk over to Maglor
Finrod: (to Maglor) Greetings cousin Maglor; it seems that your brothers make haste away from Finwë’s house with the feast drawing near?
Maglor: (to Finrod) I am afraid that Caranthir and Celegrom have restless spirits and lack some patience Finrod. How are you and Galadriel this day?
Galadriel: (to Maglor, blurting out) I am well cousin, but I understand your brothers desire to leave. I wish that I could run off somewhere. I too get bored easily.
Maglor: (to Galadriel, chuckle) Bored?
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: Galadriel
Galadriel: (to Maglor) Yes. I know it may sound petty, but do you every wish there was more do...explore?
CUT TO: CLOSE UP: Maglor
Maglor: (to Galadriel) I do not know Galadriel? Should we want much more with all our needs met here in Aman? Still, I understand some of what you mean. (pause) Where are your other brothers?
CUT TO: TWO SHOT: Finrod and Galadriel
Finrod: (to Maglor) Orodreth is on errand for father to get something for the celebration. Angrod and Aegnor are off with Fingon.
CUT TO: MED. SHOT: MOVING SHOT: Nerdanel approaches the group from across the square and greets everyone
Nerdanel: (to all) Greetings to my kin; I trust that all are well?
MED. SHOT CONT'D: Affirmative replies accompanied by bows
Nerdanel: (to all, to Maglor) Pardon my interruption. (pause) Maglor has your father and brothers arrived?
Maglor: No mother; only Celegrom and Caranthir have come and are just down the way in a shop.
MED. SHOT CONT'D: Nerdanel looks worried. Orodreth and Turgon enter into view coming across the square and bow.
Orodreth: (to Nerdanel) Greetings Lady Nerdanel, I apologize for interrupting but King Finwë is requesting that I gather all to the hall.
Nerdanel: (to Orodreth) No apology needed Orodreth. I am attempting to do likewise.
Finrod: (Orodreth, Galadriel) It will take some time to find the others so let us be off. Come Galadriel, here is something to break your boredom.
Galadriel: (to all, laughs, sarcastically) Oh my heart is overjoyed. Farewell cousins and kin. Do not start the fun without us!
ZOOM OUT SLOW: Galadriel smiles and all raise their hands to salute each other and then leave. DISSOLVE:
