So, fellow artists:
1. What kind of artistic do you think we should use - Realistic? A little bit cartoony? Why? (this assumes we do an animated film)
2. What kind of clothing should the characters be wearing? Should we use the same sort of styles as PJ, or should we go for a different look?
3. The male characters: longish hair, or varying lengths? Which characters should have short hair, if any?
4. Other ideas, things to discuss?

I don't think we should use the same styles of PJ...(viewer's might have a fit and bring up a stupid excuse for "copyright laws"...) plus, it would make the movies more unique. As for the guys, we can variate it but, we will have to refer back to the text for basics...(It's no good to make one character with poka dots when in the book they don't...) But, i don't know yet. A ll of this really depends if we do anmation or not but i have high hopes that it is... [glow=red,2,300]Hello Gumi bears![/glow]

So, fellow artists: 2. What kind of clothing should the characters be wearing? Should we use the same sort of styles as PJ, or should we go for a different look? Considering that this is in a diifferent time period altogether, the styles (especially those of the Elves) should be much more simplified yet elegant. In the LotR movies, the clothing of the Elves, and indeed, everything about them, seemed like it was finished. This is the way they had done things for millenia, and it was perfected. The awakening of the Elves by the lake is really the beginning of their society, and so essentially they'd have to work from the ground up. The Valar, Maiar, etc. would of course have much more elegant clothing, and definitely more fantastical, being able to take the form of anything they wish as demi-gods. For their appearance, we're talking representations of nature and of feelings, anything to make them feel imperial and god-like.

If we do live action, I volunteer to make chainmaille! I've actually already started on something, mainly because I've wanted to make chainmaille for a looong time, and finally found out how! (can anyone think of a better way to use old notebook wire? ) ~'Leny

I envisage the Feanorians with relatively short hair. Except Celegorm, who will grow his golden curls extremely long out of vanity. Maedhros and the twins have red hair, of course; I believe Maglor, Curufin and Caranthir are dark.
Men should tend to be bearded, though perhaps if they've spent a long time in Elvish society cleanshaven. Barahir, Beren etc, of the House of Beor, should be dark; Hurin and Huor fair-haired; and perhaps Turin dark and Tuor fair.
Elves in general should mainly be as follows-
Noldor-dark Sindar-dark or silver Descendants of Finarfin (so Galadriel, Finrod, Aegnor and, er, the other one)-blonde
Have I got that about right?

I would vote for either live action or as realistic looking animation as possible. Perhaps CG...?

CG is very hard. I think it's pretty much decided to do animation, so that is how we'll proceed in the planning. And I thought it was Caranthir that was a red-head, not Maedhros. *is confused* hS? A little help here, please? ~ Chronicler ~

Maedhros is a readhead, I'm afraid. Caranthir the Dark is, well, dark.
Sorree!

I just want it to look as realistic as possible. Animation is good, as long as it's not cartoony.

Since we seem to have more paper artists than graphic artists, I vote for paper animation, as apposed to CG.
(All artists on this project: Yah, you would say that, you're not going to be drawing. Me: Hey, I've got an idea for a scene, and I'm planning on animating, voicing and posting it for all of you. So there ha!)
But of course, as Elennar said, as realistic as possible.

I found some really pretty pictures of Fëanor's sons, if anyone cares to look and copy some ideas. I tried to link it to here, but it didn't work. Directions: www.arwen-undomiel.com, Quizzes, Which Son of Feanor should you fancy? It's on the 1st page.

Speaking of pictures of the Feanorians, I've been wandering around the 'net and have discovered this website, and specifically this artist: fan.theonering.net/rolozo/collection/darkmageSpecifically specifically, I discovered the only Feanor I've ever really been able to believe, who now featured in my icon avatar thingy: Yes. Just my random babblings. Feel free to ignore.
