Useful link with designs of (mostly Elven) coats of arms drawn from descriptions throughout Canon. Includes the arms of Feanor, Fingolfin and co., and intriguingly those of the Houses of Gondolin. Some look a bit peculiar, but it's a good resource and an interesting starting point. www.forodrim.org/gobennas/heraldry/heraldry.htm

A lot of those are direct copies of Tolkien's drawings -- all the House Finwe ones, for example. The Gondolin ones aren't, I don't think, but most of the complex ones. So it's really useful. And, yes, I have been visualising House Finarfin with that emblem. Because I likes it.

Oh thank you! Those will help sooo much with the designing process! I love the explanations as well, good resources! I feel we are almost there!

I'm partial to Feanor's, myself, but then, I'm always partial to Feanor....
