Cobwebs---Ha! Good one! Very interesting! Didn't picture Mandos as bald, didn't picture any of the Ainur bald for that matter-not a criticism!!!-just didn't picture it before now-what prompted the concept? Love Tulkas-perfect-huge, muscular, otherworldly eyes-very, very good-appears 'god-like' and etheral-brings life to the script Melkor? Not sure-don't think he looks 'evil' enough-I like the eyes though perhaps darker?-don't know, is there a way to give them a glassy look or maybe make them red? Don't know if you can add color and make it show up on the computer with your drawings, or perhaps the glassy look will have to be a technilogical addition in the animation portion (have you ever watched Supernatural? Probably not it is satanic, but the demon possed have great eyes. Maybe you've watched X-files, not quite so satanic, but the bad aliens have great eyes too, similar to the the demon possessed on Supernatural-don't know if that is something we can accomplish, but would be awesome if we could)- I like the nose too- I can see that you were striving for a chisled look which is perfect, but softened and rounded the look on the lower jaw area and chin area-it detracts from the look you were striving for-not sure about the hair, somehow it isn't doing it for me-what do we want? longer? thicker? may slicked back? just some suggestions-I cannot draw at all, but I will know the look when I see it-maybe we want to smudge his face with soot or blood or sweat, he's been in battle after all and is now defeated and is more than likely, not feeling defeat, but rather anger and vengence lust-definitely not humble at this point-when first captured soldiers are full of venom and vice and are conditioned over time to either become submissive or at the very least feign submission, while plotting their escape or revenge-can we use features to show the anger?-is there a way perhaps to contort the facial features just enough to display the rage? Love the overall layout for scene 1-knowing what the script says and looking over the pictures is a really, really big help. It brings so much life to scene and helps require less words and direction because I can picture what is happening and don't need the description given to me in words. It helps me to focus on the dialog. This is really great! I knew in my heart that this would be a terrific aid and help me focus more on the dialog and less on directions. This is going to be a powerful tool. I am very proud of you and the work you have done, both in writing the script and now in presenting the story board. School lets out July 5, I will be settled in my new place by then. School will not resume until sometime in August or September so if all goes well (wishful thinking-I know) I should be able to come help sweep out a few of those cobwebs and I anticipate that you will have more storyboards up at that time. This is way cool! I wish I had more time to spend on this, just looking at these pictures makes me want to dive in again and try to bring this thing to life, but alas I can not just at this moment. I have put school on hold tonight and spent the time here reviewing. I have taken a much, much needed time out, but will suffer for it because I have homework due Wed and Thur by midnight and I haven't even started the reading, but if I don't check out from time to time I get burnt out. Again, let me reassure you that I will be checking in, even if I don't log on, or post. I try to log on just so you know I've been here, but I don't always. Don't give up or loose hope or faith. I just have too much on my plate right now, but I still dabble in a little desert here and there.

On the look of the Valar...I just went with something interesting to me at the time. I really didn't want to get into character design right now (although I have posted one or two in that thread), but when you are doing the boards, something more than stick figures are needed, at least for me. Mandos bald came from a picture that I found on the web that had him bald, kind of like Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek Next Gen, or Merlin from Excalibur. The looks can change and I wished we had all those folks who signed on to do that exact thing, back in the loop. We can definitely change all of the "looks". I'm just trying to get something down to work with in order to move along.
I'm still trying to improve my drawing skills so the pics and boards should improve in quality as time progresses. I will keep at it although my posting may be sporadic because of time available to me to work on things. Take your time and get your school taken care of. Hopefully this summer we can pick up the pace a little.
Thanks and Take Care,
G.

Tired of being pestered? I haven't even been on in a month. Who is pestering you? The spiders in the cobwebs?

;D You know that it is all "tongue-n-cheek" my dear Tamitha. Glad to see a post from you, and I hope that it will not be another month for either of us to do so again. ;D

Been very busy. Still sad that only 3 to 4 people EVER post on this board. I have some concept art...but why post it...post to a bunch of LURKERS. Nevertheless, I will put a few new things up soon; I could just PM anything else to the couple of folk that do every contribute. Matter of fact, I had always feared that the board would close because of lack of participation, but now, I'm like, "so what". What is the benefit of a board that only 4 people post to? I can do all of what I'm doing off-line and just email the handful of people who would actually help out.
This is not a RANT. It is the cold truth. Yet, because of a promise in the elder days not to leave the quest, I will continue to post here, preach here, admonish here...until the end.

The tempation is to spend too much time on each drawing instead of doing just enough to convey the concept, or scene, and move on to the next one. I have a few more that are very rough. I'll get around to them...about as quickly as everyone get's around to posting here.
good day, ;D
