...IS ANYBODY OUT THERE!!!! Out of 0ver 100 members on the board I'd hoped for at least a 10% participation in the polls and at least a 5% regular posting rate. We seem to be adding one or two new members a month but no "new posters". Please humor me; vote and post...at least for these two simple threads.

As far as the poll results, in addtion to "who" should be cast, please express at least what kindred should they be (Edain, Eldar (which of the major divisions), Valar (Vala, Maia), etc.

I'm going to post my selections for certain roles in the next couple of weeks. Should be fun...at least for me.

i love the face of kristanna loken (without the makeup job there ) for yavanna, i think that she has a fairly warm smile with enough, 'grace' shall we say, to show the sadness at what her creations endured because of melkor in the beginning. jennifer connolly (pre-unhealthy diet/weight loss) had that kind of 'fae' look that i think of when i think of nerdanel. although it's not a crucial/huge part for how the scripts are going, i like the idea of rachel weisz for either miriel or indis, she has the kind of bearing that would befit a queen of the noldor. i really like siris vegler as uinen, she seems kind of playful, but majestic and calm at the same time. i know uinen's not a huge part in the scripts atm (or mayhaps ever) but siris would fit in my humble opinion.

rachel weisz for either miriel or indis
She would not be a bad fit in either role. It's just hard for me to hammer it down, if I were a real casting director, as to which would be perfect. I know in real life, scheduling conflicts, money, size of the role and if the person would even be interested would eliminate quite a few people so your selection pool would be smaller. I don't currently have Uinen in my version of the first movie. Who knows, that could change.

if only we could get the stars to do it for next to nothing, or nothing, for their indie film credibility. that would be nice

...for their indie film credibility. I don't know that a project with this size, scope, and given the proper funding to do it properly would qualify as an "indie" film. Would be nice though.
