Nice points there, Berzerker. ^^ Heehee, a Calvin & Hobbes Silmarillion. *dies laughing at the mental picture* Go Luthy! Pick something from either our script in progress or from the Silm that is spoke by the character you wish to voice. If there is more than one character, select more than one passage. ~ Chronicler ~

I vote for e-mailing auditions to everyone. More chances that the people who get the e-mails will be able to listen them.

I'd agree to that. At least for the first few. If we can establish someone to run the Vocals department -- and count me out, I prefer to work on the scripts, though I might volunteer for some of the voices later on (read: when I have access to a microphone again) -- then they could nominate a few assistants, and those four, five people could run all the auditioning stuff, and possibly stick the files up somewhere for us all to listen to if needed.

Are we doing the Voice of Iluvatar in the beginning? If so, I thought we could maybe do a multi-voice thing, with several people speaking the lines, then layering them together?
Just a thought.

So we send auditions to everybody? Okay then.
Can everyone check to make sure that their email address is posted somewhere (like their profile)?
Or is there a way to send the files to an account we could all access?
Could we create an account on hotmail or yahoo, and send all our auditions there? We could all have the password, and access it whenever we wanted to. Not to mention, it would cut down on adding new email addresses each time we wanted to send a new file. And if we wanted to send something private to the members, and not have it out here on the 'net for all to see, we would just create our emails and send them to the Silm Project's e-addy!

Hm, that sounds like a good idea, Tamaris. I second the motion.
Need two more people to approve by *nthing the motion.

I quadruply one hundred and eleventh it.
And when we need the said e-mail address.. I can go get us a Gmail account. You can't beat a gigabyte of free storage.

I second, if we needed that after Luthy's enthusiasm (sp?).
G-mail sounds great, but if you wanted to have another choice: YahooGroup? I don't know how to set them up, but I'm sure others do.

Yahoo!Groups are okay but they make me have to mess about with annoying sign-ins and such for different accounts.
*cough*
Anyhow, a Yahoo!Group would be something other what precisely we want, I think. Seeing as Gmail would give us a great big communal account that everyone could access, and a Yahoo!Group would give us.. a community that everyone has to join and create accounts to do so and such.
We could do both. But the one is more like a message board which also uses e-mail, along with announcement-posting capabilities and such.. we would have to send the auditions to everyone, which might take up a good bit of space in their respective e-mail accounts. Gmail would just allow everyone access to the necessary information.
*shrugs* As you can see.. I favour Gmail. ^^

1) From what you've said about Gmail, Luthy, I like it too. Seconded!
When the account is up and running, we're going to need an account name we can all remember. Something like "silmfilms@(blahblahblah).com". And instead of posting the address and password on a message everyone on the net can access, it should be passed from member to member in a PM.
2) Should we set a deadline for auditions for certain characters...?

I think Gmail is a good idea - we can all just email auditions to it. It might be a good way of storing pieces of the script and other things, too. I've got invites, if anyone needs/wants them.

Alrighty, Gmail sounds like the way to go. Just give me the address to the site and I'll go set up our account! ~ Chronicler ~
